Program design Managment & Governance Master Class
During the 3-day Management & Governance Master Class, you quickly develop a sharp eye for the latest developments in corporate governance. We focus on governance topics that affect the success of your organization and add value. We delve into the formal requirements, and give full attention to the ins and outs of “good corporate governance” and “soft controls” (behavior and unwritten rules). This allows you to develop a clear view and understanding of the triangle of directors, Supervisory Board members and stakeholders.
Please note: the daily programme is subject to change.
Day 1
We start the masterclass with the basics: the building blocks of high performing boards. Formal and informal governance rules are discussed, or legislation versus the unwritten rules. How can you find a balance between supervision and advice, between looking back and looking forward and between control and trust? In the afternoon we will work on moral dilemmas in the boardroom.
Day 2
Organizational culture is a much-discussed term these days. When something in the organization is not going well or needs to be improved, the solution is often to change the culture. But what is organizational culture actually? How do you, as a director or commissioner, gain insight into the culture of your organization, both the strong and the dark sides of that culture? And more importantly, how do you change this culture in a sustainable way?
Day 3
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in companies. But what does that actually mean for directors and for internal supervision? How do you find the right balance between having to (legislation), wanting (strategy) and being able to (business case). Due to new legislation (including CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy and UPV), companies must meet stricter requirements. Embedding sustainability in the strategy requires a different view of scenarios. At the same time, frontrunners with a sustainable mission are experiencing difficulties keeping their heads above water. During the second day, we will focus on this triptych. In preparation, we ask you to read a number of articles and to look for examples of sustainability within your own organization. Perhaps you can find information on the website, in the annual report, or on the intranet?
