Mirea has been at the forefront of applying behavioral science in supervision, risk management, and organizational change for over 12 years. She spent 6.5 years leading numerous cultural inspections at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). DNB’s supervision of Behavior & Culture—also known as ‘The Dutch Approach’—is widely regarded as one of the most successful post-financial crisis innovations in supervision. She collaborated with regulators worldwide, including the ECB, the US, Australia, and Asia.
After DNB, Mirea worked for five years as the Global Head of Behavioral Risk Management at ING, where she was responsible for identifying and assessing behavioral risks and intervening to mitigate these risks. Behavioral Risk Management is now an integrated part of ING's risk function and strategic decision-making globally.
Mirea studied organizational psychology and holds a PhD in Behavioral Sciences.
Currently, Mirea works as an independent advisor for international and national companies and public organizations. She is an Expert Partner at Axialent, an international consultancy specializing in culture transformation. She is also a core lecturer for the course "Organizational Culture & Behavioral Risk" at VU Business School. Additionally, she is a sought-after keynote speaker.
Mirea is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Institute for Sports Law (ISR) – ISR is responsible for disciplinary proceedings in sports and can be engaged in cases involving suspected sexual harassment, general misconduct, match-fixing, and doping in sports. Furthermore, Mirea serves on the Advisory Board of Starling Trust Sciences, a U.S.-based RegTech company.
