Increase your value as education administrator or director

Educational administrators and directors are expected to ensure high-quality education, act with the public's interest in mind, collaborate effectively with other organizations, and navigate the future with sound moral judgment. In your role as an educational administrator or director, you are responsible for making the necessary choices to meet these expectations.

This program is designed specifically for administrators and directors who seek to enhance their effectiveness by drawing on current scientific knowledge, practical expertise, and the experiences of fellow leaders with leadership dilemmas. You will expand your perspective, deepen your knowledge, broaden your skillset, and gain greater awareness of your own actions.

For whom?

The program is geared towards directors of educational institutions, including those who are responsible for business operations, housing or staff services. Directors of organizations that provide services to educational institutions are also welcome to participate.

This program is not suitable for people who aspire to become administrators or directors but still lack managerial experience. The participants are carefully selected by our Academic Directors.

Admission requirements

The Advanced Program Professional Education Administration is an exclusive program aimed at directors of educational institutions and education administrators. You must have the following eligibility requirements in order to participate.

Director/administrator in a professional setting
Education-related position
Academic level of working and thinking
As the size of the group is small, an intake and positive recommendation from the Academic Director are required for participation. This helps us to ensure that your fellow participants have similar roles and responsibilities, and the same level of experience and academic competence.

Professionalization of Educational Administration

The highly interactive Professional Education Administration program combines scientific knowledge, in-depth practical expertise, and the everyday challenges faced by educational administrators. Professional Education Administration

The content of the program is structured around two main themes that serve the program's objective: increasing your impact as an administrator or director and adding value to education. Each theme is developed through four consecutive sessions using a wide variety of learning formats. In each session, you will engage in challenging formats, including:

Case teachings where you step into the shoes of a fellow administrator or director, discuss the core of dilemmas in small groups, and explore various perspectives and action options for a specific issue.
Interactive mini-lectures featuring recent research and the latest knowledge from both national and international sources.
Structured discussions of your own case studies under experienced guidance.
Guest speakers and roundtable discussions on current, relevant topics.

Before each session, you will prepare by reading literature, watching video clips, and working on thought-provoking questions and assignments.

Main theme 1. Steering on educational quality

In the first 4 sessions of the program, administrative issues and administrative actions within your own organization are discussed.

How do you arrive at a useful vision of educational quality?
How can you steer on educational quality? What is more and less effective?
How do you make meaningful use of hard and soft information?
How do you build a well-functioning administrative community that aims for good education for all pupils/students?
What role can internal supervision be imposed in steering on educational quality?

Main theme 2. Tuning in to the environment

In the last 4 sessions, the focus is on the complex environment in which education boards operate.

How can you adhere to what society and politics expect from education boards?
How do you fulfil your role as a hub between external expectations and internal possibilities?
How can you deal strategically with partnerships?
How can you collaborate effectively in (regional) networks?
How can you give exclusive weight to the values of the democratic constitutional state in your administrative actions?
