Slager edited book on managing pension assets

By Alfred Slager | September 8, 2015 | 1 min read

"Managing pension assets" was presented at a seminar. TIAS Professor Alfred Slager, together with Fons Lute, Jan Overmeer, and Jeroen Schreur, had been the editors of this book. The book was published by VBA, the professional association for investment professionals, and SPO, the training partner of the pension sector.

The book includes 18 contributions from leading decision makers in the pension sector. They go further than the recommendations and requirements of the laws and regulations, principles, and reports that pension fund administrators need to deal with, without prescribing the rules. The book, therefore, builds a much needed bridge between practice and policy.

In daily practice, administrators face harsh and drastic choices when it comes to the organization and management of investments and risk management. These are choices about issues that do not naturally lead to unequivocal solutions. To help administrators and decision-makers deal with these tough questions, SPO and VBA have jointly published the book entitled "Managing pension assets", which includes practical tools for difficult choices in the boardroom.
