Ignoring society may put organizations at risk

Companies that ignore society may be putting their organizations at risk. Maurits Groen said this during the opening of the 2015-2016 TIAS academic year.
"Think of the energy companies that, in the last six years, lost roughly 70 percent of their market value because they ignored the spirit of the time. Or look at Volkswagen which tried to cheat all of society. This will work well for a while, but eventually they will be presented with the bill. The company is on the brink of collapse at the moment," says Groen.
