The business community should make more efforts to appoint more women in top positions. This according to minister of Education, Culture and Science Jet Bussemaker in response to the recent figures of the Female Board Index 2014. This study by Prof. dr. Mijntje Lückerath, associated with TIAS as a professor of Governance TIAS, shows that women are represented in a mere 6 percent of the boards of directors.

When approached by the NOS on camera, Bussemaker states that things are not going well at all in her opinion. "It is clear that companies have to do more than they are doing now. It is in their own interest." The minister states that she plans to examine the figures in more detail when she receives the report Talent to the Top.
