Research shows Worktop approach works

By Nicolette van Gestel | July 4, 2014 | 1 min read

The Worktop approach, an employer approach that links job-seekers and business operators together, works. This is demonstrated by research conducted by Dr. Nicolette van Gestel, Dr. Shirley Oomens and Eva Buwalda-Groeneweg MA. The study was presented to State Secretary Jetta Klijnsma by the researchers, the Municipality of Doetinchem and Van Amstel Advies during the national Worktop Works conference.

The research shows that the Worktop approach:

  • helps significantly more people find work than the "regular" channels used by municipalities;
  • the search behavior of job-seekers is significantly more active and belief in their own abilities considerably higher;
  • and that participants in the Worktop approach (business operators and job applicants) are substantially more positive about the municipality's approach.

The study is unfortunately not available yet. You can download a summary and table of contents below.
