Chair Profile ‘Organizational Behavior, Culture and Change’
To remain relevant in these VUCA times, organizations need to adapt, innovate, and prepare themselves for the future. Improving performance is not only required for reasons of competition, but also to achieve the organization’s strategic goals and remain being able to fulfill its mission. Not only private businesses but also public and government organizations are facing complex challenges of change.
This chair seeks to integrate several aspects of improving organizations’ performance. First, the behavior of its members is taken as a starting point. People make the organization; not so much as building blocks, but as actors and key success factors. Secondly, the focus is on organizational change, necessary for performance improvement and organizational development. And thirdly, culture is taken as a perspective, a lens, for analyzing and studying behavior and organizational mechanisms.
