A year at TIAS: Not all work and no play

February 28, 2019 | 1 min read

I still vividly remember the day I got an email from TIAS saying that I had been admitted to the MScBA program. Though exited on embarking on this new journey, I was a bit nervous, as this was my first time outside my home country. It was not easy to leave home and enter in this unknown world, but TIAS made me feel at home. The faculty and management welcomed us and were always there for us to solve our queries, be it personal or academic.

TIAS not only provided me with a great platform for my career, but also gave me an opportunity to make some great friends, some of them being friends for life. They were my family away from home. We had a great time studying together, working on assignments and rewarding ourselves with after-class drinks after a long tedious week of classes.

There were moments when I missed my family, especially during festivals. But my friends at TIAS were always there to cheer me up. We made sure that we celebrated the festivals of all cultures and embraced their traditions. The most fun filled experience for me was when I visited the Christmas market in The Hague, it was something that I had never seen in India. Though chilly, the lights, colours and festivities made me forget about the cold, having hot chocolate around a fire and listening to Christmas carols is a memory that I will cherish forever.

The Christmas holidays gave us the opportunity to travel and explore new countries. I had never visited so many countries in such short span of time, #justEuropethings.  One of the most amazing travels was when my German friend Fabian invited us to his hometown in Trier, Germany. We had an incredible time exploring Trier and the nearby cities of Luxembourg and Brussels. It was overwhelming to visit his family and spend time with them; it felt just like home.

Through TIAS I learned about diverse cultures and traditions, lived my dream of travelling different countries, made amazing friends and did all this while building a strong foundation for my future career through the right education. Indeed, it has been one of the most amazing chapters of my life, a perfect blend of study, fun and adventure!!!
