Professor Paul van Seters collaborated in the writing of Globalization and Politics, a collection of essays published in the first half of this year. Van Seters, Professor of Globalization and Sustainability, is the author of 'Global Social Movements and Global Civil Society', the second essay in the collection. The book consists of the main articles written over the past 10 years on what globalization means for social movements and civil society.
The publication is part of the 16-volume series of reference books on globalization published by Sage, a project that is supposed to select and interpret the most influential articles in the field of globalization.
In an interview at Tilburg University, Van Seters states that any interpretation of the term globalization first requires clarification of what it is. "It is an abstract concept, but everyone notices it in their surroundings. The relationship between government, business and civil society has changed greatly in the public, private and social arenas, especially since the 80s."
