TIAS student earns top-5 place in Bloomberg Aptitude Test

June 27, 2014 | 1 min read

TIAS student Sandeep Nene has scored the 2nd highest score in the whole of Europe, Middle East and Africa on the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) in March 2014. The BAT is currently offered at over 2000 universities and business schools in over 63 countries around the world. The global, online exam is designed to identify and screen undergraduates and recent graduates who are interested in a career in finance and business.

Sandeep primarily decided to take the test to compare his performance against students of other business schools. “like the London Business School, Oxford Said Business School and I wanted to check where I stand.”

The TIAS MBA student didn’t prepare for the test, although he did plan the order to answer the sections. “The test has 8 sections. First I answered the questions about capital markets and the financial questions. The questions about math I lasted for the end.” Sandeep didn’t think the test was hard for a regular finance reader, “I think it’s because I read finance on a regular basis; also I am a qualified  accountant and Msc in Finance & Economics before I started the TIAS MBA and I trade derivatives in my spare time for the past ten years.”

Next week Sandeep starts his management project at SCOPEinsight, an independent rating agency that assesses the business potential of farmer organizations in agriculture, dairy, forestry and aquaculture in developing countries.

After two months he is hoping to further his career in finance. “I’m looking for roles at multinationals where I can work in different roles and enhance my career.”
