NSE 2016: TIAS programs excel in practical relevance

May 12, 2016 | 1 min read

The TIAS School for Business and Society has again been extremely well appraised by its own participants in the National Student Survey (NSE) 2016. The total score is higher than last year: an increase from 4.16 to 4.22 on a scale of 5.

In comparison with other educators, TIAS scores exceptionally high on practical application. Participants give TIAS high scores on the practical usefulness of the acquired skills, translation to their daily practice and the focus on practical translation during the program.

"At TIAS our participants are given the most recent academic knowledge. However, its value is only appreciated once the participants apply their new insights in practice, thereby making the difference for their organizations and society. So we are particularly proud of these results," says dean and director Kees Koedijk.

Other striking results are the high scores for the parts General Skills and Academic Skills, Teachers and Group size. A total of 331 TIAS participants took part in the survey.

The following TIAS programs were included in the survey:

  • Executive Master of Management in Education
  • Executive Master of Master of Management and Organization

About the National Student Survey
The National Student Survey (NSE) was published on May 12, 2016. NSE is a wide-ranging national survey in which every year nearly all students in higher education are invited to give their opinion about their educational program. The NSE is the responsibility of Stichting Studiekeuze123 (Foundation for Study Choice) and is an initiative of the Vereniging Hogescholen (the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences), NRTO (Dutch Council for Training and Education), VSNU (Association of universities in the Netherlands) and the student organizations LSVb and ISO, and so represents the entire higher education sector. All results can be viewed on www.studiekeuze123.nl.
