Governance codes offer no solution to behavioral change

On 3 December 2013, a conference entitled 'Internal monitoring: a focus on culture and behavior' was organized in the College of Higher Education in The Hague. The main conclusion that afternoon: more rules do not always offer the best solution. 

Lex de Lange (the day's chairman and director Administration Support and Advice at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) stated this in his opening speech, Doekle Terpstra (Proper Administration Committee) devoted a considerable amount of time to the subject in his speech and Mijntje Lückerath-Rovers (TIAS School for Business and Society) claimed that governance codes offer no magical solution to behavioral change.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) is compiling a report on the meeting.
