'A high CO2-price is the most important instrument for an effective energy policy'

A CO2-price increase from 5 Euros to 40 Euros is necessary in order to realize an effective EU-energy policy, says Paul van Seters, professor of globalization and sustainability at the TIAS/Tilburg University.

Having realized an estimate union and a bank union, we can now speak in terms of a energy union without bursting into laughter. The European Council could have determined the policy framework for the energy policy at the end of June, yet postponed the decision until October, which is a shame but not insurmountable.
