Returns from Ministry of Defense Property

By Ingrid Janssen | July 2, 2014 | 1 min read

Property is used by the Ministry of Defense to support and to perform its tasks. In implementing government policy, MoD wishes to exercise greater control over the returns obtained from its property. Return is not  hereby dryly expressed as financial revenue but the relationship between the service provided by the property and the costs that the property incurs.  The total performance of an organization is shaped by the factors of productivity, profitability and distinctiveness, as viewed from the perspectives of stakeholders.

In his final project, Henk Koster developed a model that makes the contribution of MoD real estate evident. The model establishes a clear link between the added value desired from the property and organizational performance. In this video interview, Henk reports on the method that he followed during the study and the impact of his research on the ways of thinking about real estate within his organization.
