John van der Puil performed various functions in business: journalist and editor, in logistics (contract engineer, materials manager, director procurement), in law: senior lawyer for an international power exchange organisation, and in general management: director public relations for a ship yard and mechanical engineering company, director of an international leasing company, CEO and owner of a consulting company.
He was professor for international private law, company law and transport law at the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. His research includes risk identification for large and complex constructions and off shore projects.
His track record mentions six books, a number of publications on mainly contract management and logistics. He was the secretary for the presidium, which developed the Standard Contract for the Construction, Modification and Maintenance for the Oil- and Gas Industry in The Netherlands.
