Dr. Therese de Groot RA is research fellow at TIAS, the business school of Tilburg University and obtained her PhD at Tilburg University on the subject ‘Accounting Choices of Controllers’. She has worked as a practitioner in a variety of functions, such as auditor, finance manager, reporting specialist and business analyst, and for a number of profit and non-profit organizations. She is currently working as Manager Financial Control at the ANWB. Being actively involved in financial reporting from different perspectives has resulted in her keen interest in the process of making accounting choice. She is intrigued by the sometimes hidden complexity of translating business activities into financial statements and is particularly interested in the combination of business control and financial accounting.
