Currently I am professor in Strategy and International Management at the Nijmegen School of Management, Radboud University. My research interests evolve around topics related to institutional change, sustainable innovation, strategies for the base-of-the-pyramid, and strategic decision-making. I teach courses on strategic change and an introduction to business administration. My work has been published in academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Organization Studies, Long Range Planning, Journal of Small Business Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing and several other journals. I published four books: "Innovations and Institutions" (2007, Routledge); "Entrepreneurial Strategic Decision-Making" (2008, Edward Elgar); “De Verankerde Organisatie" (2014, published in Dutch by Boom/Lemma). My most recent book was published in 2014 "Strategic Challenges for the Base of the Pyramid" (Edward Elgar). A Chinese edition of my dissertation on Organizing Product Innovation in Financial Services was published in 2013 by Zhejiang University Press.

I have pursued an academic career for the last fifteen years, but I have a strong interest and affiliation with practice. Next to my work in the academic world, I have been involved in consultancy projects with several organizations. My expertise is related to strategic management, the relation between organizations and their environment, resistance to change, and improving the innovative performance of organizations.
