Martijn Dekker is a senior vice president at ABN AMRO and manager of the Information Security Office. He and his team are delivering information security services such as IT risk assessments, security testing, security architectures, policies and strategies, user security, training and awareness campaigns etc. Furthermore, Martijn is responsible for business continuity, operational risk management of IT and Ops, and policy management.

 Before joining ABN AMRO in 1997, he studied mathematics and graduated cum laude at the university of Utrecht (1993) and received his PhD at the University of Amsterdam (1997).

Dr. Martijn Dekker was appointed Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of ABN AMRO in early 2010 and became managing director in 2014. In his role as CISO, Martijn is responsible for defining, overseeing and implementing the information security strategy, including identity & access management,  security operations, e-fraud prevention and business continuity within the ABN AMRO group. Previously he held several positions in information security and IT including Head of Technology Risk Management for ABN AMRO Netherlands. Martijn joined ABN AMRO in 1997 after completing his Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Amsterdam. Next to his role in ABN AMRO, he is member of the security board of advisors of IBM. He is teaching at TIAS school for business & society since 2012.

Dr. Martijn Dekker is begin 2010 benoemd tot Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) van ABN AMRO en in 2014 werd hij managing director. In zijn rol als CISO is Martijn verantwoordelijk voor het definieren, bewaking en implementatie van de informatie beveiliging strategie. Deze omvat identity & access management, security operations, e-fraud preventie en business continuiteit binnen de ABN AMRO groep. Hiervoor heeft hij verschillende functies bekleed binnen informatie beveiliging en IT, waaronder hoofd van technology risk management voor ABN AMRO NL. Martijn begon zijn carriere bij ABN AMRO in 1997, na zijn promotie in de wiskunde aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Naast zijn werk bij ABN AMRO is hij lid van de Security Board of Advisors van IBM sinds 2015, en geeft hij les aan TIAS School for Business & Society sinds 2012.
