A year at TIAS: The final step
March 7, 2019 | 1 min read
During my Bachelor studies I was already firmly focused on my next step within my educational path. I did encounter a struggle that many other students experience as well. My ‘International Business and Management’ studies required me to follow a one-year program prior to joining a regular Master program. TIAS did offer me the opportunity to start my Master studies forthwith.
Therefore, it would not take me two years anymore to finish my Master. However, this was not the only aspect I considered as appealing. The international curriculum, the quality of the faculty, and students from all over the world, also caught my attention, because my professional ambitions are within the international environment. Therefore, I realized that TIAS would be a serious option as the next and last step within my educational progress.
Due to a very smooth finish with respect to my Bachelor dissertation, I finally was able to start with ‘the final step’ last September. As from the very first moment I was enrolled at TIAS, my expectations were exceeded. A strong focus on personal attention and the support from the staff were adequate and top-notch. Guidance that I missed so much during my Bachelor. And most of all, the inspiring teaching methods at TIAS, a.o. video feedback on reports.
I much appreciate the international context of TIAS. From the moment you cross the main entrance, you taste the diversity of cultures within the building. A mix of various backgrounds, personalities, customs and religions are noticeable. Motivated fellow students from all continents link up within class and provide a continuous rich exchange of views. Besides, it was quite fun to explain fellow students from abroad about the old man with a long white beard riding over the roofs on his white horse. A pretty strange phenomenon in their eyes. Thus, divergent ideas and perspectives were swapped thoroughly. In our group this was so profound, that they placed us on the cover page of the MscBA brochure;).
Lastly, an attractive part is (this became clear to me during the past months) that TIAS alumni did succeed to start their career in various and the most challenging positions, providing trust for all of us considering our future careers.
TIAS has been a unique opportunity to conclude my educational preparations. A fantastic major step before finishing off my life as a student.
