TIAS MBA students selected for Flourish Prizes
April 14, 2022 | 1 min read
Our Full-time MBA students participated in AIM2Flourish: an international, UN supported platform for sharing stories about business innovations that create value for both business and society. Business students around the world are participating in AIM2Flourish and using Appreciative Inquiry (strength-based interviews) and the UN Global Goals as a lens to search out and report on world-changing innovations
Of the nine stories that our FT MBA students published on AIM2Flourish last year, four have now been selected as 2022 Flourish Prize Finalists! This means these stories are part of a shortlist of 84 stories, of which 17 will win the 2022 Flourish Prizes – one per each of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 winning stories will be announced early June.
Our current FT MBA group is currently writing new AIM2Flourish stories – for the fifth year in a row.
The four finalist stories from TIAS are:
Innovative Agricultural Advisor in Nigeria featuring Kitovu in Nigeria written by Ray Tung and Sherif Tosin Akanbi from TIAS School for Business and Society under the direction of Mirjam Minderman.
Community Finance Powered Social Trust featuring Rank Africa in Nigeria written by Femi Adeniyi and Idris Olayinka Bello from TIAS School for Business and Society under the direction of Mirjam Minderman.
Empowering Filipino At-risk Young Adults while Caring for the Environment featuring Messy Bessy Cleaners, Inc. in Philippines written by Chelley Sharleene Pecajas and Stephanie Anne Añonuevo from TIAS School for Business and Society under the direction of Mirjam Minderman.
Tackling Food Waste Through AI-Technology featuring Orbisk in Netherlands written by Jeffrey Stouthamer and Vikrant Singh from TIAS School for Business and Society under the direction of Mirjam Minderman.
84 finalists
The full list of the 2022 Flourish Prize Finalists can be viewed here. This year’s 84 Flourish Prizes Finalists represent exemplar stories from the 685 stories published in 2021, spanning the globe and showcasing business innovations for each of the 17 UN Global Goals. The finalist stories this year are authored by students from 31 universities under the guidance of 41 professors. The businesses represented span 28 countries across the globe.
