Although their careers began very differently, both Fenya and her son Axel chose to pursue a master’s program at TIAS. They sat down together to discuss generational differences in leadership, learning, and working—and how TIAS played a key role for both of them.

Fenya, an adviser and interim manager in hospital healthcare, completed the Master of Health Administration (MHA) to develop a more strategic view of organizations. “TIAS truly gave me new insights into complexity, coherence, and leadership.”
Shortly after completing his bachelor’s degree at a university of applied sciences, Axel chose the Full-time Master in Management (MScBA). The personal attention, practice-oriented lecturers, and clear structure of the program helped guide him towards a role focused on project leadership.
In their conversation, they explore how their generations view leadership differently: younger professionals seek autonomy and speed, while more experienced professionals bring depth and perspective. According to both, this combination is essential in an increasingly complex VUCA world.
Although they have completed their programs, their connection with TIAS remains strong. For example, they attended an alumni event on AI in healthcare together. Axel: “Very inspiring to see how AI is applied in practice.” Fenya: “TIAS continues to be a source of knowledge and networking for me.”
