Introduction
A leader’s most important tool is oneself. Effective leadership depends entirely on how well you can manage yourself. Even experienced leaders encounter situations in which they get triggered and fail to act optimally. That is precisely why personal leadership is crucial for further development.
The (Inter)Personal Leadership module, part of the Advanced Leadership and Management Program, focuses on understanding yourself and your impact on others.

About this program
The (Inter)Personal Leadership module consists of two two-day blocks. The content is based on the latest insights in leadership, coaching, and interpersonal dynamics, always connected to the participants' day-to-day practice.
Using your own real-life cases and a realistic simulation, you immediately apply what you learn.
Program – Block 1
In a world where change is the norm, leaders make the difference through what they enable in others. Secure Base Leadership offers a powerful, evidence-based approach to strengthening trust, ownership, and resilience, unlocking the full potential of people and organizations.
During the first two days of this module, you will be introduced to the core principles of this leadership approach, developed by IMD professor George Kohlrieser. You will immediately translate these insights into your own professional context while reflecting on the impact of your beliefs and behavior.
You will develop the ability to create an environment where people feel safe to take risks, learn, and perform at their best. You will also discover what it means to become a true secure base yourself—the key to building an agile, learning organization.
Program – Block 2
The second two-day block focuses on interpersonal leadership. Through the themes of relational intelligence and emotional resilience, you will strengthen your ability to build more conscious and effective relationships. Using a systemic perspective, we examine the challenges you encounter in working with others and explore how expanding your reflective capacity, intentionally shaping the quality of conversations, and embracing discomfort can strengthen relationships.
On the second day, you will further develop your interpersonal skills and deepen your understanding of group dynamics. During a realistic simulation, you will be confronted with your own contribution to destructive interaction patterns. Together, we will reflect on the underlying causes and develop greater flexibility in your leadership style to break these dynamics. The module concludes with participants' own cases, enabling you to recognize and interrupt destructive patterns and influence others more effectively.
