Introduction

Many leaders recognize this. There’s a compelling narrative, there’s direction, there’s buy-in. And yet: after the first milestones, momentum slips away. Other priorities take over. The EMBA Module Leading Transformation addresses precisely this inner side of change. Not the question of where you need to go, but why it’s so hard to turn a chosen course into reality. You work with a comprehensive change framework that brings together three perspectives: steering and incentives through management controls, a change approach focused on practical application, and insight into human behavior. This way, you learn not just to explain change, but to organize it.

Participants in the EMBA Module Leading Transformation are senior and executive managers responsible for strategy, execution, or implementation. They know that a clear course doesn’t automatically lead to different behavior. The plans are in place, the mandate is there, but in practice things stall. You want to increase your impact in the phase where it really matters: from plan to actual change.

Leading Transformation helps you break that pattern. You develop a coherent change framework and test it against reality. And in the Live Performance Challenge, you bring it all together on a real change assignment where movement has stalled.

About this program

The content is structured as a single learning journey: from understanding where change gets stuck, to figuring out how to get unstuck. Each course adds a new perspective, with your own professional practice as the backdrop for reflection and application. The Live Performance Challenge provides the reality check: can you apply what you've learned in a real-life change challenge?

The five courses in brief

Management Controls, steering behavior through incentives, frameworks, and accountability. What you measure gets done.

Organizational Behavior, insight into motivation, leadership, and culture, and predictors of high performance.

Leading Change, drivers of behavior change in individuals and groups, and setting conditions for organizational change.

Transformational Leadership Trail Austria, a deep dive in personal leadership, getting clarity on what is truly important to you in life and at work, and support in taking the first steps in making that a reality. 

Live Performance Challenge, a real change case with a client organization, making choices under real pressure.

Time investment and certificate

The program spans 5 months, during which you attend 5 residential weekends of 3 days each. During the first three weekends, the study load is approximately 16–18 hours per week. After that, the study load decreases significantly due to the experiential nature of the final two weekends (approximately 2–5 hours per week).

Upon successful completion, you receive a certificate of participation. This can ultimately count toward an Executive MBA degree, provided you complete all 4 EMBA tracks and your capstone project.

EMBA Module - Leading Transformation

The cost of Leading Transformation is €17,000 (VAT exempt).

The program fee includes:

  • Registration and administrative fees
  • Required literature, textbooks, and course materials
  • Day packages (lunch, coffee/tea, and soft drinks) during class days, meals during evening sessions
  • Overnight accommodation including breakfast*
  • Access to the online learning environment

*On-site accommodation during the program allows you to fully focus on your studies. The Program Adviser can provide more information about the benefits of the program including accommodation, or about cost savings if you choose not to stay on-site.

Payment options & financing

TIAS offers various payment and financing options:

  • Payment can be made by invoice (employer or private individual).
  • Payment in installments is possible in accordance with TIAS policy.

Many participants use an employer contribution or the O&O fund.
