Result
Upon successful completion, you receive a certificate of participation. This can ultimately count toward an Executive MBA diploma if you complete all four EMBA tracks and finish your Capstone graduation project.
Introduction
You can feel it, and often your organization can too. The rules of value creation are shifting. Sustainability is no longer a side initiative. It now shapes innovation, capital allocation, and the long term viability of your business model. Many leaders know change is required, but struggle to translate that insight into concrete decisions for strategy, the portfolio, and the organization.
The Advanced Program Building Sustainable Businesses helps you make that translation. You gain concepts, frameworks, and tools to analyze transition challenges systemically, make sharper strategic choices, and steer innovation under uncertainty. That includes exnovation: deliberately phasing out what no longer fits. The result is an initial, credible route toward a business model that is both sustainable and economically robust.
A standalone Advanced Program or stackable as a track within the EMBA
By participating in this program, you will complete one of the four tracks of TIAS's leading Executive MBA program. You will learn, discuss and collaborate with participants taking the full Executive MBA, immediately immersing you in an ambitious and strategic learning environment.
Participant profile
Participants in the Advanced Program Building Sustainable Businesses are senior and executive managers who want to steer innovation and investment decisions toward a future proof business model. You work close to strategy, the portfolio, and governance, and you are looking for sharper clarity to make trade offs explicit and organize decisions that actually create momentum.

Why this program
Sustainability is on the agenda in many organizations. But as soon as it comes down to choices, investments, and direction, it gets complex. Many leaders know something has to change, yet feel how paralyzing it can be when it is unclear where to start, with so many stakeholders and competing interests.
That paralysis happens because it is not about a single initiative. It is about strategic choices that affect the foundations: your strategy, your portfolio, and how you organize decision making and accountability. You still have to deliver results today while building the next version of your business model.
The Advanced Program Building Sustainable Businesses helps you make that complexity manageable. You learn to analyze transition challenges systemically, make trade offs explicit, and steer innovation under uncertainty, including exnovation: deliberately phasing out what no longer fits. In doing so, you translate choices into strategy, portfolio, and governance, and design an initial credible route toward a business model that is both sustainable and economically robust.
What will the program bring you?
Sharper insight into your vulnerability to disruption and where circularity creates opportunities and risks
More focused discussions on investments, portfolio choices, and priorities, with clear trade offs
More room for renewal by making phase outs discussable and manageable
An initial credible route toward a sustainable and economically robust business model, tailored to your context
About this program
The program is designed as one learning journey around a single question: how do you steer innovation and investment decisions toward circularity while your organization still has to perform today. Sustainable innovation in times of transition is a wicked problem. The trade offs are real, uncertainty is high, and there is no standard playbook.
Each theme adds a new lens on the same challenge. You move from strategic sharpness and leadership to market dynamics and adoption, from value creation to innovation steering and governance. The result is not just understanding, but practical traction to make choices that hold up in the real world.
The five components at a glance
Strategic Leadership, sharpen choices and stay on course under uncertainty
Marketing Management, make innovation land in the market through adoption and scaling
Creating Shared Value, steer value creation with stakeholder logic as your compass
Sustainable Innovation Management, align innovation strategy to circularity, including making room through exnovation
Live Performance Challenge, bring everything together in a real life client case, choosing and substantiating direction in one weekend
