NSE 2024: high TIAS participant satisfaction

Program participants once again awarded TIAS School for Business and Society high marks in the 2024 Nationale Studenten Enquête – NSE – (National Student Survey). The total score came to 4.21 out of 5. For the statement, “Based on my experiences, I would opt for this program again,” participants awarded TIAS a rating of 4.27 out of 5.
In addition, TIAS scored well above the benchmarks in all of the main survey categories, with the highest ratings reserved for ‘Lecturers’ and ‘Engagement.’

• Lecturer engagement with students: 4.13
• Lecturer subject matter expertise: 4.54
• Lecturer familiarity with professional practice: 4.47
“Our lecturers have extensive knowledge and wide experience in science, business and society. Because of this, they know better than anyone how to translate academic theories and models into topical issues and our participants’ daily practice. We’re proud to see that reflected in the survey results,” says TIAS Dean and Director Jenke ter Horst.

NSE RESPONSE LINKED TO UAF DONATION
As an incentive for participation in this annual national survey, TIAS promised to donate to the UAF based on response rates. The
UAF is a foundation that supports refugee students and professionals with their studies and with finding suitable work on the Dutch labor market.
THE SURVEY
Availability of objective information about study programs and educational institutions contributes to the quality and transparency of higher education. It is in this spirit that the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science asked the Landelijk Centrum Studiekeuze (national center on choosing what to study) to set up the NSE. The survey is designed in close collaboration with Dutch student organizations and institutes of higher education. Research company MWM2 is responsible for its implementation.
