Your Study Plan
The TIAS Online Premaster (English-taught) consists of four modules that thoroughly prepare you for a successful start to your master’s program. Once your enrollment is finalized, you will gain immediate access to the online learning environment.
From that point on, you’re in control. With your master’s start date in mind, you decide when to begin each module, how many modules to take at once, and the pace at which you complete them.
Modules
Academic Reading and Writing
You will learn how to search for, evaluate, and process academic literature. In addition, you’ll work on your writing skills and learn how to construct well-supported academic texts in the form of a literature review.
Quantitative Methods
You will learn to apply statistical concepts and analyze quantitative data. These skills are a key component of many forms of academic research.
Qualitative Methods
You will be introduced to qualitative research methods and learn how to design and prepare a qualitative study in order to effectively collect qualitative research data.
Accounting & Finance
You will develop foundational academic and analytical knowledge in the areas of accounting (financial reporting) and finance (corporate finance).
Time Investment
The weekly study load of this premaster depends largely on how many modules you take simultaneously and the pace you choose for each module. In practice, participants often complete a module within 9 weeks. Depending on your prior knowledge and experience, this typically translates to a study load of 8 to 16 hours per week per module.
By following multiple modules at the same time, you can shorten the overall duration of the premaster—though this will increase your weekly time investment.
Result
Upon successful completion of a module, you will receive a certificate. Once you have completed all four modules, you will gain access to an Executive Master’s program of your choice at TIAS.
