Introduction

The social added value of public real estate is a hot topic in society and politics. Governments own a lot of diverse real estate. By using real estate and land wisely, they can contribute to various policy goals and social challenges.

The Social Impact of Real Estate Choices course provides up-to-date knowledge, insight, and skills to expand the familiar approach with methods and techniques for determining and achieving social impact, in addition to economic value and value for users.

Participant profile

In collaboration with the Dutch Government Real Estate Council, the Social Impact of Real Estate Choices training program has been developed for real estate professionals who deal with social issues in public real estate.

Participants in this training course are generally involved in the purchase, sale, development, and management of real estate properties. Participating organizations manage government real estate or land, such as Staatsbosbeheer (the Dutch Forestry Commission), Centraal Orgaan Opvang Asielzoekers (the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers), the Ministry of Defense, Rijksvastgoedbedrijf (the Central Government Real Estate Agency), Rijkswaterstaat (the Department of Waterways and Public Works), the National Police, Prorail (the Dutch Railways), provinces, and municipalities.
