Governance and Supervision programs

tias tilburg small

In the Governance and Supervision programs at TIAS School for Business and Society, you explore how to connect strategic direction, oversight, and societal responsibility in your role as a board member or supervisor.

You work with your own cases and current governance challenges. Together with fellow participants from different sectors, you compare perspectives and discover what changes when you approach decision-making from a different angle. Academic insights are directly linked to real-world experience. You take a holistic view of the boardroom: its composition, dynamics, behavior, culture, and its relationship with management and stakeholders.

You examine tensions between short-term and long-term objectives, between formal rules and room for discretion, between financial performance and broader societal value. By making these dilemmas explicit, you sharpen your judgment and strengthen your moral and strategic compass.

This is how you grow in your role as a board member or supervisor: you ask better questions, engage in more meaningful dialogue, and make decisions that stand the test of time at the intersection of business and society.
