Chris Lonsdale is Professor in Procurement and Supply Management at the University of Birmingham, UK. He has been at the Business School at Birmingham since 1994, during which time he has published widely in the management area, worked extensively with major organizations such as IBM, Rolls-Royce plc, NHS and Molson Coors and taught on degree programs at all levels. His key research interests are within the area of procurement and supply management, including procurement as a profession, the internal organization and management of procurement activity, procurement strategy, boundary of the firm issues and social value via procurement. His external work with organizations assists managers and executives organize procurement activity within the firm, develop procurement strategies and manage procurement risk.
