The Advanced Human Resource Program (AHRP) gave me the confirmation that HR needs to become more fact based. HR Analytics will become even more crucial in the near future.
An insight I use every day is that the ability to be able to demonstrate Return on Investment as a function is becoming crucial in order to justify the costs which are generated by HR. With this insight, every proposal I or any member of my team make, now includes a business case and a return on investment calculation.
The Advanced Human Resource Program (AHRP) has helped me in distancing myself from my own functional work field, which makes me more effective in my work  - as it allows me to see the bigger picture within and outside of HR as a function.
Through a very diverse group, it was easier to put your own current situation and challenges into perspective.  And of course plenty of best practises were shared.
