The Gallup organization defines employee engagement as discretionary effort, or “going the extra mile.” By definition then, this is outside of management’s control – otherwise it would no longer be discretionary.
So then how do you “create” engaged employees? Put differently, how do you bring out the best in others? Is that even possible, or a contradiction in terms? While there is no clear answer to this question, there certainly are some guidelines that can help increase your effectiveness.
In this interactive workshop, you will be introduced to some of these research-based guidelines that come out of neuroscience and positive psychology. You will then be invited to discuss, in small groups, your own case(s) with fellow participants.
Executive Professor Roemer Visser will be leading this session.
